About Us

Established in 1962, the Mound-Westonka Rotary has been providing "Service Above Self" for over 60 years - serving the needs of the community and assisting in humanitarian efforts world wide.

In 2013 the club launched Tonka Brew Fest. The community gathering and fundraising event was a huge success! In 9 years the nearly sellout crowds have enjoyed great beer from Minnesota craft breweries, live music, food and lots of fun.

The event has raised over $112,000 for the MW Rotary club. That money was then used for numerous projects including:

  • WeCAN - Western Communities Action Network, Inc.

  • Westonka Food Shelf

  • Eli Hart Foundation for the Memorial Playground

  • Music in the Park Series Summer 2023

  • Surfside Polar Plunge, Westonka U12 Boys Baseball, Mound Fire and much more

  • International Water Project with Wine to Water building 100 Portable Water Filters

What’s All the Buzz About Tonka Brew Fest?

TEN years, WOW! Tonka Brew Fest is a craft brew festival focused exclusively on Minnesota Craft Brews at the picturesque Gale Woods Farm in Minnetrista! Tonka Brew Fest events have been the buzz of Lake Minnetonka, and this year promises to be even greater, and we want you to be a part of it!!

In 9 years (2013-2022 minus 2020) of Tonka Brew Fest we’ve raised nearly $113,000, which the Mound-Westonka Rotary used for numerous community and humanitarian projects - including the Mound Harbor District area improvements, WeCAN Mobile Market Van, a GlideScope (life-saving medical device) for the Waconia Emergency Department, Shelter Box disaster relief supplies, Exchange Students (in 2017-18 we had both outbound Westonka students in Japan & hosted a student from Finland), Westonka High School Student Scholarships, Support to WeCAB, WeCAN, Westonka Food Shelf, student school supplies, hats, mittens & much, much more!

Who attends the Tonka Brew Fest?

Tonka Brew Fest attendees range in age from 30 to 65 with an estimated 60% - 40% male-to-female ratio. The majority of the 500 attendees live/work in the West Metro Lake Minnetonka Area (Wayzata to Minnetrista), but we also draw from the surrounding larger cities, including but not limited to Minneapolis, Bloomington & St. Paul.
